Hello! I'm Josh. I am currently a Second Year Student at the University of Northampton. I am enrolled on BSc Web Development & Cyber Security. Throughout my studies, I have fortified robust foundational skills from a wide range of Computer Science topics, ranging from ISO27001 Cyber Security Standards to how we can follow the coding principles of DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself) by using PHP in Front-End Development. Additionally, to this I am an Intern at the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group where I have been able to enhance my learning to the next level. I am able to conduct First Step Web Assessment to find the critical vulnerabilities on a website. I also lead Security Awareness Seminars for large audiences to enhance their security knowledge and security posture.
I enjoy exercising and I regularly attend the gym. It allows me to escape academics and momentarily disconnect allowing me to recharge and come back even more focused and ready as I can maintain a healthy balance between academics and mind. Moreover, at the gym, I am currently training for a sub 2 Hour Half-Marathon by the end of 2024.

During my time at university one of my first web development projects was to create a portfolio
website.
My first website I made was in fact a portfolio website. However, throughout university, I have changed
and
developed my website to reflect me as I go.
Therefore, as my skillset improved, so did my website. I found this was a good way to consolidate my
knowledge from my studies.

The Pac-Man ('Snack-Man') game was the first proper JavaScript project I had at university.
It taught me the basics such as eventListeners and functions and OOP Principles.
Through this project I was able to understand how I would be able to incorporate JavaScript into any
upcoming Websites.
This was the last major skill I was wanting to get so I can understand the jobs which Front-End
Developers
do.
Through my efforts I put in during my first year at University I was approached by a Senior Lecturers,
they asked me to help out and be a support Lecturer in their classes.
I said yes, as I found it a good way to help out and also consolidate my knowledge at the same time.
I am currently waiting for the University Year to resume before proceeding with this.
I have also been given the permission to also independently run timetabled sessions for those students
needing extra help.
During my first year at University we was set a group project in Software Engineering. We was tasked
with
Requirements Engineering and project plans and client communication.
Due to my skills I thought that this project would not just be a good match for me, but also due to the
abilty to be able to Project Manage and work as a team and be the driving force for the teams success.
At the end of the project we came 1st with 94.5%.
Through this I have been more confident to take on other Lead roles in Group Projects.
I am currently learning the Tailwind CSS framework. I decided to learn a framework so I am able to take
my
skills that much further.
Although we do not learn Tailwind CSS at university I find when in industry knowing a framework would be
beneficial, especially when coming to Rapid Development.
I am consolidating my Tailwind knowledge by doing a series of mini projects were I am able to use it
freely to understand how to better my Web Development Skills.
During my A Levels, I dedicated significant time to supporting SEND students and volunteered to assist
those requiring additional help. I accumulated over 120 hours of volunteer work, providing valuable
support to those in need.
This experience not only honed my communication and empathy skills but also enhanced my ability to work
collaboratively and adapt to diverse needs.
This experience allowed me to understand the significant impact I can have in helping others.
Consequently, I am committed to continuing this effort during my time at university and beyond.
